Yayoi Kusama in Museum Ludwig Köln

To mark its 50th anniversary, the Museum Ludwig is dedicating a comprehensive exhibition to the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama.

https://www.museum-ludwig.de/de/ausstellungen/yayoi-kusama Yayoi Kusama (born 1929 in Matsumoto) is one of the most influential contemporary artists. Her polka dots, pumpkin sculptures, and mirrored infinity rooms have long been visual signatures – frequently referenced and globally present.

The exhibition takes visitors through her entire oeuvre: over 300 works, from early drawings of the 1930s to the present day. It spans a wide range of disciplines, including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, fashion, performance, and literature – and makes the consistency and radical nature of her work tangible.

Open until 2. August 2026
